Who wears what in La Liga? Which apparel brands are dominating on the Spanish pitches? Are most shirt and sleeve sponsors gambling companies?

Below we answer those questions and more by giving you an overview of the sponsors – kit, shirt and sleeve sponsors – of the 2019/2020 La Liga clubs. We also take a look at the league’s official partners.

Kit sponsors: 20 clubs, 10 brands

The 20 La Liga teams are sponsored by 10 different clothing brands. We will see Adidas, Hummel, Joma, Kappa, Kelme, Macron, New Balance, Nike, Puma and Umbro on the Spanish pitches this year.

Nike and Joma both supply four teams. Nike sponsors defending champions Barcelona, runner-ups Atletico Madrid, Sevilla and promoted side Granada. While Joma sponsors Eibar, Getafe, Leganés and Villarreal.

Adidas follows Nike and Joma by sponsoring three sides. The German brand no longer sponsors Valencia, but added Real Valladolid to their La Liga portfolio of Real Madrid and Celta de Vigo.

Spanish company Kelme and Italian brand Macron each sponsor two teams. Kelme sponsors Alavés and Espanyol, while Levante and Real Sociedad are sponsored by Macron.

Hummel, Kappa, New Balance, Puma and Umbro complete the list by each sponsoring one team.

Four teams have switched brands for the upcoming season, including Eibar from Puma to Joma, Granada from Erreà to Nike, Valencia from Adidas to Puma and Real Valladolid from Hummel to Adidas.

2019/20 La Liga Shirt Sponsors

19 out of 20 La Liga clubs have a front shirt sponsor for the 2019/20 season. Real Sociedad has no shirt sponsor on the front, on the back they feature the logo of Kutxabank.

Gambling companies are a favourite partner for clubs. Eight out of 20 La Liga clubs will feature a gambling company on the front of their shirts this season. That is two fewer than in the 2019/2020 Premier League and seven more than the 2019/2020 Bundesliga.

Betway even sponsors three clubs: Alavés, Levante and Leganés. It is the only brand to sponsor multiple clubs (as front shirt sponsor). Noticeable is also that all three promoted clubs have a gambling shirt sponsor.

Besides the gambling partners, three shirt sponsors are active in the financial services industry. This includes two online traders: Plus500 and easyMarkets.  The rest of the shirt sponsors could be categorised as being active in the beverage (two companies), airline, ceramic, e-commerce, media, oil and gas and real estate industries (all one).

The 17 companies come from around the world. 13 of the 17 companies come from Europe, with six clubs having a sponsor from Spain. The list is completed with two companies from both Asia and the Middle East.

2019/20 La Liga Sleeve Sponsors

Only 13 teams have a sleeve sponsor (so far), with no club having the same shirt and sleeve sponsor.

While Real Sociedad has no front shirt sponsor, they do have Reale Seguro as sleeve sponsor. The insurance company is also sleeve sponsor of Betis and Getafe.

Besides insurance, automotive (3) and tourism (2) companies are also favourites as sleeve sponsor. Noticeable is that (so far) there are no gambling related sleeve sponsors while there are eight gambling shirt sponsors.

2019/2020 La Liga sponsors

La Liga lists 20 official partners on their website. Main sponsor Santander is also the league’s title sponsor. In addition, the club has five global partners, 13 regional partners and Microsoft as partner brand.

The La Liga season runs from August 16th till May 24th 2020.
